Huge metal "supertrees" that light up at night like a magic forest, with two glass domes full of plants.

Half lion, half fish — Singapore's most famous statue. Spits water into the harbour.

Singapore Zoo

One of the most beautiful zoos in the world. No big cages — animals roam in open jungle areas.

Sentosa Island

An island full of beaches, water parks, and rides. You ride a cable car or a tiny train to get there.

A long street of shopping malls, all connected. The Christmas lights are extra sparkly.

Singapore is a country, an island, and a city — all at the same time. Most countries have many cities. Singapore is just one!
It has four official languages: English, Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil. Many kids speak two or three at home.
It rains almost every afternoon — short, warm tropical showers that stop quickly.
The trains (called the MRT) are so clean and fast you could eat off the floor — except you'd get fined!
It's nicknamed the "Garden City" because everywhere has trees and flowers, even on the buildings.
From Saigon, the flight is only about 2 hours — closer than flying to Hanoi.
